Welcome to the website of S2CB – Bio-Organic Colloidal Systems and Synthesis Laboratory – at Avignon University.

We are a research team in organic and polymer chemistry with strong expertise in colloidal characterization, dedicated to designing innovative molecular tools that help biochemists explore the complexity of biological processes.
 Our work spans the development of next-generation detergents, bio-sourced amphiphiles, functional additives, membrane mimetics, and amphiphilic polymers for the extraction, stabilization, solubilization and structural study of membrane proteins—key therapeutic and biotechnological targets. We also create nanometric assemblies for antioxidant or active-compound delivery, and design spin-trapping probes for detecting radical species by EPR.


At S2CB, we combine creativity in molecular design with rigorous physicochemical characterization, collaborating closely with structural biologists, biophysicists and industrial partners. Together, we aim to contribute useful, reliable tools to the scientific community—one molecule at a time.
